BAKU TOWER

​​The Motioneering damping specialist team collaborated closely with the owner and design team, as well as with RWDI, who performed the wind-engineering services for this unique tower situated in a very active wind climate location.

The aerodynamic behavior of Baku Tower was established through wind tunnel testing, and it was determined that supplemental damping was needed to reduce the tower motions to be within commonly accepted comfort criteria for occupants of the building. Motioneering designed a 400-tonne tuned mass damper to implement wind-induced vibration control measures along with construction tender documents and specifications.
